The begining!

Fifteen years of marriage, a son who is three and a half and a life that is sheer chaos.
I figured I was turning into an obsessive soccer mom, my life started revolving around my son, my emotional status was determined by my interactions with my son. I was working the whole day, ignoring my own emotional impulses and getting dog tired by night. Hey, I am not complaining, just expressing the exact life lead by several women out there who are focused on bringing up kids 'the right way'!
After ignoring several attempts by my husband to distract me away from my focused 'caretaker' life, I have finally given in. And now, after so many years of ignoring my own desires and impulses, I have decided to give 'the other side of me' a shot (pun intended!)
So we have decided to go for 50 Thursday dates together!
And this is how it all started. One Thursday, after putting my son down to bed and getting the house in order, I was sitting and performing my favorite act of staring at the walls, when my husband started trying to persuade me to come out with him for a drive. I could have literally barked back, but I thought to myself saying 'come on Sandy, surprise yourself, do the exact opposite of what you would normally do'. So I stood up and said to him 'let me get ready and come'. I am sure I almost knocked him over by this response, but he looked happy. Thankfully my parents in law were around to watch my sleeping baby, so it was that much easier for me.
As we drove along, my husband suggested we went to a pub that we had been many years ago. I thought to myself 'why not, just a quick drink could be a good change'. And we ended up in Santana Row. And before we hit on a place my husband suggested that we should try and come out for a drink every Thursday, after dinner and after getting our son down. It seemed like a very do-able idea so I agreed.
So here starts my saga of writing about our 50 Thursday dates together with my husband. I am hoping that while I pen down my beautiful experiences, it also ends up being a kind of travelogue with little tips about the places we visited. So cheers to the  upcoming weeks of discovering and drinking!
